Coaching approach

Learn the game.
See the next pass.

Coaching, skill practice and plenty of football play. Children try first touch, passing and dribbling, then use those skills with teammates in small-sided games.

  • Indoor football
  • Age-appropriate activities
  • Learning through play

Skills that work together.

  • First touch

Control the ball to prepare your next action.

  • Passing & receiving

Move, offer support and find a teammate.

  • Dribbling & 1v1

Change direction and practise beating an opponent.

  • Scanning & decisions

Look around before receiving. Notice space and options.

Help them look up.

  1. Look before the ball arrives
  2. Receive with space to move
  3. Choose the next pass or dribble

Practise in small-sided games, with time to try again.

A plan for each stage.
