About MatchCraft
The academy built around match craft.
MatchCraft Football Academy is being built with a clear purpose: to give children aged 7–14 across Melbourne's north and west access to consistent, structured, professional football training — fully indoors, launching October 2026.
Why we exist
Why we're building MatchCraft
Junior football in Melbourne has no shortage of enthusiasm. What it's short of is consistent, structured training time.
Outdoor winters interrupt routines. Short clinics squeeze real coaching into 45 rushed minutes. Big groups leave quieter kids standing in queues. None of that is anyone's fault — but it's the gap MatchCraft is designed to fill.
The plan is deliberately simple: a proper indoor hall, two full hours, groups capped at 20, the same structured arc every session. Activation, technical work, then coached match play — the craft of the game, trained on purpose.
We're pre-launch, and we'd rather earn trust than borrow it. So everything on this site is described as planned until it's confirmed — and the first confirmed session for every family is free, so you can watch from the sideline and judge us in person.

Our coaching philosophy
Designed to develop. Built to be enjoyed.
MatchCraft sessions are designed to support technical development, decision-making and confidence — whether a child is just starting out or already playing competitively.
The focus is technical skill, game intelligence, fitness and enjoyment. Every drill is chosen to transfer to the real game, while building the discipline and teamwork that stay with a child for life.
Craft the skills. Read the game.
What we believe
The MatchCraft way
01
Consistency beats talent
Improvement comes from showing up every week. The program is planned as fully indoor, so nothing about Melbourne's weather should interrupt the routine.
02
Every child, every session
Capped groups mean no one hides at the back. Coaches are there to know every player's name, level and next step.
03
Confidence first
Skills grow fastest when kids feel safe to try things. Sessions are designed to be demanding and encouraging in equal measure.
04
Built for the real game
Everything indoors is chosen because it transfers to the match — first touch, speed of thought, bravery on the ball.
Safety & standards
Professional standards. Clear peace of mind.
Nothing matters more than your child's safety. These are the standards the program is being built on — confirmed and documented before sessions begin:
- Coaches must hold a current Working with Children Check before working with participants
- Child Safe expectations and a code of conduct will apply across the program
- Guardian consent and relevant medical information collected before participation
- An incident-reporting process will be maintained
- Required insurance and venue documentation confirmed before sessions begin
- Final policies and operating responsibilities documented before launch
